Beautify Your Sukkah

Sukkot is further enhanced by beautifying the sukkah. Some of the loveliest sukkah decorations come from nature!

It is traditional to display the Seven Species of the Land of Israel. Try your best to obtain these plants fresh, as they are harvested. If that is not possible, then use the dried, preserved, or processed plants.

You can make a beautiful centerpiece for your table by arranging them in a basket. If you can’t get real plants at all, decorate with drawings of the Seven Species.

  • Wheat

  • Barley

  • Grapes

  • Dates

  • Figs

  • Pomegranates

  • Olives

Go for a nature walk.

As you walk, collect some flowers, leaves, fruits, gourds, seashells, pinecones, acorns, nuts, or any other beautiful thing that you find where you live.

If you don’t live near a park you can purchase some flowers, fruits, and unshelled nuts.
